Installation Supervisor

Daktronics is recognized worldwide as a leader in the large display industry. The company designs, manufactures, sells, and services a variety of display products in three primary markets: sports, commercial, and transportation. Sports market customers include schools, colleges and universities, professional teams and facilities, sports federations, and international events and organizing committees. Commercial customers include financial institutions, hotels and motels, gaming, auto dealers, convenience stores, shopping centers and other retail establishments. Transportation applications include display systems for state and city departments of transportation, mass transit systems, airlines and airports, bus terminals and other transportation agencies.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinate on-site installation aspects of large, custom sports projects including:
Coordination of shipping schedule with project manager, manufacturing plant, and installation subcontractor (prior to shipment).
Attend site meetings.
Coordinate delivery locations, unloading of equipment, and staging area for displays once on-site.
Assist with supervision and coordinate work with Daktronics installation subcontractors.
Assist with supervision of mechanical subcontractor during installation including picking, lifting, and attachment of displays (with the assistance of Daktronics engineering staff).
Assist with supervision of HVAC subcontractor during installation of A/C units, ducting and electrical wiring of A/C units.
Assist with supervision of electrical subcontractor during installation including conduit installation, pulling of electrical/signal wires, and power termination.
Communicate with project manager on project installation details/problems that arise during install.
Provide daily installation report/details.
Assist with signal cable terminations.
Assist with control room set up and control equipment installation.
Assist with troubleshooting of displays/making displays 100% operational.
Provide support for first use events.
Provide as-built drawings to project manager once project is completed.
Assist project manager with obtaining project final acceptance.
REQUIREMENTS
Job Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Construction Management Technology, or other electrical/mechanical technical degree.
Prefer equivalent work experience in similar type of work: construction management, installation supervision, project management.
Ability to work at heights, work from a ladder and ability to carry a ladder and/or tools from vehicle to work site.
Ability to communicate well with others, both written and verbal.
Ability to read and understand drawings/blue prints.
Good decision making abilities.
Travel required including air and ground travel with frequent extended stays during system installation (average project duration is 4 – 6 months – return trips to be negotiated with Project Manager).
Ability to drive and to travel by air. Must have good driving record. Motor Vehicle records will be checked.
Interest in sports is recommended.
