HVAC Mechanic (Fresno, CA)

From it’s Cape Canaveral Florida Headquarters, IAP Worldwide Services, Inc. provides administrative, maintenance, logistical and technical contractor support services to the US Military, and US governmental offices and locations throughout the world. These projects include everything from construction and maintenance, to engineering, consulting, scientific and environmental, information technology, visual imaging, energy, security, and logistics services. The company provides worldwide contingency planning and disaster response and reconstruction on a moment’s notice, and offers a virtually unlimited range of mission support services. This position, HVAC Mechanic, is located at the IRS facility in Fresno, CA.

HVAC MECHANIC:
Installs, troubleshoots, services, and repairs air conditioning, heating systems, and electronic control systems. Installs and services condensing and combination units on both ground level and rooftops. Fabricates, assembles, and installs ductwork and plenums. Installs evaporator units in chassis or in air duct systems. Troubleshoots and services compressors, temperature controls, and circulating ventilation fans from control panels to power sources. Tests joints and connections for refrigerant leaks. Observes pressure gauges and adjusts controls to ensure proper operation to ensure safe and efficient operation of the system and to meet demands for the service providers. Performs work according to verbal instructions, work orders, blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, technical publications and instructions bulletins. Replaces defective controls, thermostats, switches, fuses, and electrical wiring to repair installed units. Observes, documents, and interprets readings on gauges, meters, and charts registering various aspects of system operation. Performs preventive and corrective maintenance tasks according to manufacturers specifications and best practice methods. Maintains equipment documentation and operational records; enters data related to work completion into work management system. Performs in-processing quality control inspection of HVAC equipment. Participates in function-specific training.

MUST be able to obtain an IRS Security Clearance.
REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:

Four years experience (in the past seven years) in the operation and maintenance of HVAC equipment and systems.

Graduate from a recognized school of technology or from an approved apprentice-training program. May be waived with 10 yrs. of experience with a minimum of 5 yrs. experience at a comparable level of performance to that of a journeyman commercial/industrial HVAC Mechanic.

Must be trained and certified in EPA certification for recovery and installation of refrigerants issued by an EPA-approved Universal CFC certification agency.

Must have working knowledge of applicable regulations, standards, and safety practices.

Capable of obtaining IRS Security Clearance

Must possess as valid drivers license
