Ground Maintenance Technician

JOB SUMMARY:

Utilizes appropriate equipment and material to accomplish all routine and non-routine maintenance functions on specialized equipment, and specialized parts of equipment. Inspect, service, troubleshoot, repair, replace and overhaul all ground support equipment and components including the following: truck chassis, body and drive-train components on truck mounted units. Inspect, service, troubleshoot, repair, replace and overhaul all trailer components on trailer mounted units, and air delivery ducts and nozzles on air starters and air conditioning units. Responsibilities also include: painting, body work, and other technical work as required on all Ground Support Equipment. Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
REQUIREMENTS
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be able to read and write English and be able to comprehend and apply information contained in technical manuals. Require high school diploma or G.E.D. Should possess basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic disciplines as they apply to automotive and industrial power systems. Should have successfully completed a two year degree at a post-secondary technical school or have three years documented Ground Support Equipment experience. Must be willing to work rotating or fixed shifts. Must achieve a satisfactory score on the mechanical aptitude tests structured to determine the ability to perform essential job functions. As required by the FAA for all persons in safety-sensitive positions, candidates selected for this position are subject to a drug test to detect the presence of the following illegal drugs: marijuana, cocaine, opiates, phencyclidine (PCP), and amphetamines, or a metabolite of these drugs in your system. In addition, in accordance with company policy, the presence of legal drugs prescribed for another individual or the presence without a prescription of any substance which is controlled in the United States, is considered to be a violation of Delta''s Anti-Drug Policy and is grounds for termination. Should meet the physical requirements which qualify a person to perform essential job functions including the ability to lift at least 70 pounds. Must be performing satisfactorily in present position.
