ELECTRICAL FOREMEN AND GENERAL FOREMEN
Electrical Foremen and General Foremen
Supervise and coordinate an assigned crew and subordinate supervision in all aspects of installation, alteration, demolition, maintenance and / or repair of electrical systems, conductors, assemblies and associated materials and equipment on all types of projects within the electrical construction industry.
REQUIREMENTS
Must demonstrate the mechanical aptitude, mathematical and literacy skills to satisfactorily perform the responsibilities and duties of this position.
Requires a minimum high school diploma or an accredited G.E.D. certificate and minimum of five (5) years trade related experience.
Depending on level of experience, tasks may include:
Supervise the completion of projects ranging in contract value of $50,000 to $3 million.
Meet or exceed project schedules, productivity standards and monetary budgets.
Possess expertise in all aspects of trade related materials, components, equipment, systems, methods of installation, safety procedures, safe work practices, trade related calculations, blueprint and drawing interpretation, and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
Operate all trade related power and hand tools and equipment as work assignments may require.
Effectively communicate with peers, crew, project supervision, and Customer representatives.
Coordinate work activities with Project Manager, General Contractor, Customer and other site trades.
Forecast and secure manpower, materials, tools, equipment needs well in advance to ensure that all requirements are met as needed for project progress and completion.
Proceed with work via verbal and written instructions, plans, drawings, specifications, etc.
Directly responsible for supervision and management of all employees assigned.
Layout and schedule work for subordinate lead positions and crew as needed.
Correctly complete, in a timely manner, administrative requirements and documentation such as time sheets, labor coding, daily logs, material and tool requisitions, manloading schedules, incident / injury reports, and employee notifications.
Monitor labor productivity, quality control, and direct the crew in such a manner so as to meet project schedules and production goals.
Coordinate and manage equipment rentals and return.
Identify, schedule and facilitate all jobsite related inspections.
Prepare detail drawings for job as needed.
Instruct employees assigned in the correct operation of tools and equipment, safe work practices, electrical principles, and applicable NEC.
Routinely evaluate the performance and all assigned employees, make recommendations based on evaluations.
Perform disciplinary actions, procedures and documentation.
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical circuits, systems, and equipment.
Perform EEW, metering and testing up to 480 volts.
Utilize NEC code book as needed.
Understand, comply and enforce Corbins Electric and Customer policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Work with tools along side crews when required or as directed.
Attend all required monthly Foremen's meetings.
Conduct all weekly safety meetings, incident investigation and follow up, etc.
Perform other project related duties as directed by Supervisor.
May be called upon to perform the duties of a Journey level worker.
