Job Summary and Functions:
We are currently seeking applicants for our Control Valve Technician position in Memphis, TN . This person will have the ability to tear down, assemble and calibrate all brands of control valves and instruments. This position also requires the ability to complete all paperwork associated with the position as well as the ability to learn “the business” as it relates to repair and new assembly. Computer literacy and the ability to learn and understand valve diagnostics, digital control technology and associated instrumentation (e.g. AMS and Delta V.) is also required for this position. A Control Valve Technician must also be willing to perform field service work (which can include minimal travel – overnight).
Major Areas of Accountability:
Building customer relationships by providing solutions-oriented services (both on-site and in various IVS facilities), engaging in proactive communications and remaining on an “On-Call” status (via pager). Responsibility for the repair, calibration and modification of all makes and models of control valves and associated instrumentation. Provide field service, inventory management and customer training, with a focus on building and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with Emerson product divisions and sales channels.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications:
2+ years solid background in the repair of control valves, instrumentation and process control industry. Ability to work in a fast paced and high stress environment. Proven History of analyzing, evaluating, diagnosing and resolving equipment and process related problems is strongly preferred. Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer relations skills. Self-directed individual. Personal computer experience strongly preferred. Valid driver’s license required. Welding and/or Machining experience is a plus.
