Chief Equipment Technician - Wahiawa

The Chief Technician is responsible for the overall operation, condition, maintenance, and repair of all water treatment equipment, dialysis machines, mechanical/electrical systems and other medical equipment to ensure safety of the patients as well as the staff operating the equipment. The Chief Technician is also responsible for reuse, inventory, and housekeeping.

Repair and maintenance of dialysis machines, maintain inventory, equipment service contracts, back-up water treatment equipment, preventive maintenance programs, and purchase parts and equipment necessary for the repair, maintenance, and operation of dialysis machines and other medical equipment. Comply with all requirements and applicable sections of the Technical Policy and Standards Manual. Perform in-services for all technical staff. Submit monthly status reports, participate in budget planning, develop and implement policies and procedures for equipment operation/maintenance and patient safety. Participate in End Stage Renal Disease surveys conducted at the facility and serve as a member of the Quality Assurance Committee.


EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS
Possess a minimum of two years of Technical/Mechanical experience.
The successful completion of the FMC Reuse and Equipment Technician Training Program
The successful completion of Technical Validation Program exam A within 18 months and parts B and C within 36 months from date of becoming the Chief Technician
Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills, including those required to problem solve in a medical, health-care environment

EDUCATION
Possess High school diploma or G.E.D. Associates degree in electronics or related field preferred
Possess a Valid Drivers License and/or ability to cover at other facilities and transport equipment and supplies as needed
