Chicago DSL Field Service Technician

The Field Service Technician will perform client side field installations, consisting of DSL loop testing and repair, inside wiring and router configurations. Truck and Tools are required to perform the Specific Responsibilities: Practice and exhibit quality workmanship, excellent work ethic and pride-in-ownership in the execution of all operating and maintenance duties including the proper care of all Company property. Be prepared and available to work on a rotating basis that will cover a seven-day schedule. Solid communications, organization and prioritization skills are essential, including the ability to work well with others and interact respectfully with customers. Be prepared and able to work in a fast paced environment, and can work independently during non-business hours with minimal supervision. Technician must have basic familiarity with the use of telecom testing equipment, digital meters and computer operating systems. Have ability to maintain and upgrade software requirements. Need experience in customer premise wiring practices, safe drilling and ladder practices. Technicians need Basic knowledge and theory of router configurations. Prepare and update installation orders and trouble tickets. Meet the requirements of Company sponsored development and training programs. Demonstrate knowledge of all Company Policies & Procedures. Carry out all routine and special assignments as directed by immediate supervisor. Maintain a Safe Driving Record. Maximum salary of $20/hr includes starting salary of $16/hr plus $4/hr Truck and Tool Allowance.
