Broadband Technician IV

The purpose of this full time position is to electronically and mechanically activate upgrades and extend plant facilities. Performs demand maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs on the drop, coaxial distribution and Optical Network, between the Customer Premises Equipment and the Optical Node. Responds to and resolves residential, commercial and institutional network problems involving Video, Voice and Data transmission.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
All the requirements of a Broadband Technician lll.
BHN Module Return Path Measurement.
BHN System Design and Construction Standards
BHN perform system measurements
BHN Module FCC Required Testing and Measurements Procedures
BHN Module understanding Fiber Optics System, design and Architecture
BHN Module Fiber Optic Preparation, Splicing and documentation
Graduate NCTI Course 320 Return Path Operations & 410 System Technicians.
Successful completion of theoretical and practical assessment
Minimum of 1 year as a Broadband Technician lll.

SPECIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE:Skills include: driving, lifting, and carrying equipment and climbing.
Demonstrated proficiency in the use of various tools and equipment, including all safety equipment and the use of a two-way radio
Valid Alabama Driver’s license with a good driving record for the past 5 years)
