Automation Maintenance Technician

Job Description:


PURPOSE: Perform and/or conduct repairs, scheduled & preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of automated manufacturing and packaging equipment.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Demonstrate excellent understanding of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) ladder logic code and the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues in a manufacturing environment.
* Demonstrate solid understanding of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic principals as it relates to a various industrial manufacturing equipment.
* Use advanced skills to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain a wide variety of automated manufacturing and packaging equipment.
* Perform all maintenance and repair services as required on industrial automation and manufacturing devices (motors, switches, valves, etc.), using sound practices (wiring, machine and component assembly, basic mechanical fabrication techniques)
* Develop preventative maintenance inspections and perform service as required, documenting all work performed.
* Establish required service and maintenance schedules
•Use solid understanding of A) Mechanical assembly and machining detail drawings B) Electrical power distribution, panel layout and I/O control drawings, and C) Pneumatic logic schematics to perform required tasks.

REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS:

* EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: 2 years of community college or vocational training in mechanical, electrical and/or general maintenance/or equivalent experience

* EXPERIENCE: 5 years in industrial automation/manufacturing monitoring and troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) ladder code Alternative Combination: 3 years experience with PLC controllers with 2 years college or associate degree.
