SUMMARY
Ensures the integrity of the system and the quality of workmanship by our employees and contractors by performing field audits and conducting physical job inspections.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Generates incremental Net Gain and reduces cable theft by verifying cable drop status through visual inspection and the disconnection of unauthorized drops.
Ensures the quality of workmanship throughout the system by inspecting completed installs, disconnects, and trouble calls performed by field service to sales employees.
Insures accuracy of account status by utilizing Cable Master inquiry to update street sheets.
Minimizes future unauthorized active accounts by recognizing and reporting UA trends found in the field.
Identifies and labels unlabeled cable drops using logic skills and tools such as toners and volt meters. This involves climbing poles and ladders to reach directional taps located on utilities poles and multi-unit building roofs.
Ensures compliance with G.O. 95, 128 and C.L.I. specifications by correcting and/ or reporting overhead and underground infractions.
Contributes toward effective communications with all internal and external contacts by utilizing Focus on Added Value skills and acceptable interpersonal skills.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and involved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Sound knowledge of PC and network computer systems.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job the employee is usually required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands & arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear and lift up to 10 pounds. The vision requirements include: Close, Distance, Color and Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus.
Ability to frequently kneel, stoop, crawl and crouch under house or in attic.
Ability to frequently use repetitive motion of the wrist, hand and or fingers to feel, push, pull and or grasp materials used on the job.
Ability to continuously speak and hear detail on important information and instruction.
Ability to walk, stand, reach, lift and balance up to 70 lbs. in order to frequently carry and climb ladders.
Work requires visual acuity in order to use, prepare and analyze data at a distance close to the eyes and use small hand tools/drills at a distance close to the eyes.
Ability to work under hazardous conditions such as working at heights of telephone poles and or roof tops.
Able to tolerate exposure to outside weather conditions.
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Office, field and events (will include weekends, nights & light lifting); no known hazardous or disagreeable work conditions. Rarely will encounter wet or humid conditions or work in high, precarious places. Employee usually will be in outdoor weather conditions.

REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Must possess high level of integrity and have good logic skills. Thorough knowledge of one distinct Cox service (video, HSD or telephone) including the ability to install, troubleshoot and disconnect. One year experience as a Field Service or Sales representative. Must possess basic computer skills and knowledge of database programs, data entry and file updating. Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimum guidance. Knowledge of G.O. 95 & 128 regulations. Good physical agility with ability to carry 28' ladder and climb utility poles. Must pass a security background investigation. Ability to diffuse emotionally charged situations. Ability to operate VOM and Field Strength Meter. Ability to organize time, tools, and records. Ability to use reasoning to problem solve and troubleshoot. Excellent driving record and current license.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or G.E.D. One year experience as a Field Service to Sales representative. Gaff certified-preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
