Aircraft Worker - LO

Purpose:
DS2 is accepting resumes for Aircraft Worker L.O. at our facility in Tyndall AFB, FL.

POSITION: Aircraft Worker ? LO

QUALIFICATIONS: Must have two (2) years experience in aircraft sheet metal or corrosion control.

DUTIES: Carries out the directions of the Manger/Supervisor/Lead/Mechanic. Responsible to ensure that established maintenance standards are accomplished in accordance with applicable technical data. Responsible for clearing aircraft discrepancies and certifying completion of assigned tasks. Trains lesser qualified employees. Also, responsible for performing and/or evaluating and inspecting work accomplished to ascertain and certify condition status of components.
Perform the following duties: Inspects, repairs, modifies and fabricates aircraft structural parts as required. Manufacture hydraulic lines using Duetsch Lite, Rynglok and other specialty tube fittings. Repairs fiberglass, metal, bonded honeycomb, titanium and advanced composite components. Removes and installs bonded nut plates and cold works holes as required. Performs canopy frame and transparency inspections. Communicates with appropriate technical sources to facilitate repair procedures. Reads and interprets manufacturers drawings, computer generated mylar plastic templates, Air Forces Technical Orders and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. Orders parts as required. Inspects airframe low observable coatings for proper application IAW approved technical data. Removes existing coatings and gap fillers using approved methods and prepares aircraft surfaces for application of approved coatings to ensure proper adhesion. Marks and covers all areas as required preventing over spray and dust intrusion. Coats aircraft surfaces with approved Low Observable coatings. Applies epoxy, resin, Radar Absorbent Material (RAM), and/or other materials using approved methods. Removes, replaces and/or inspects the following F/A-22 peculiar equipment/components: Lightning Diverter Strips, Infrequently Accessed Panels, evaluates the exterior finishes, coatings and the radar cross-section of panels; applies stencils and decals to approved F/A-22 surfaces, doors, panels, landing gears, and canopy rails using approved methods.
Uses and maintains applicable shop support equipment; may be required to perform repairs on equipment to include disassembly, repair and re-assembly in accordance with technical data. Uses Portable Maintenance Aid (PMA) and approved technical data in performance of aircraft maintenance tasks. Maintains manual and/or automated aircraft records. Documents expended maintenance hours and completed maintenance tasks using standard Air Force forms, Integrated Maintenance Information System (IMIS). May be required to perform like and similar duties of a lesser classification and other ancillary duties as assigned. Prior experience on F-117, B-2, F/A-22, F-15 and F-16CJ aircraft is desirable.Classification:Direct HireCompensation:
