Workstation Systems Engineer
Business Unit: GE MoneyFunction: Information TechnologyResponsibilities: - Review and certify/approve IT estimates for Build, Test, and Run components related to "dot-release" projects.
Establish processes and tools to keep the Production environment running smoothly.
Communicate status on the Production environment to IT and business stakeholders, as appropriate.
Recommend and participate in RTS type projects (including Disaster Recovery, HW/SW upgrades, etc).
Consult with Project Management Team on Application Architecture considerations during prioritization of IRs, CCs, etc for dot-releases.
Work with GDCs, Systems Engineering Team and Service Delivery Team to create detailed technical and functional requirements.
Complete high-level design, consider impacts on overall Application Design, and review with GDC Team responsible for detailed design.
Ensure documentation is discussed as part of Application review at certification meetings, as a required component for Systems Engineering approval.
Review and certify/approve design and test deliverables for ongoing run fixes.
Participate in addressing RCAs and IRs and provide direction in problem resolution.
Participate in finding ways to increase efficiency, minimize operating expense and improve system performance, offering improvement suggestions where appropriate.
Ensure compliance with architecture, security, and technology standards set by GE Money, change control standards and release management (includes freeze adherence).
Participate in capacity planning activities with Technical System Engineers.
Serve as Technical expert on Application(s) within team of Systems Engineers. Provides insight and guidance based on lessons learned and best practices.
Monitor application code quality through development, test, and QA.
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.~HJ~
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: - Expertise in Application Server Administration, specifically BEA WebLogic. Understand how to design, build and implement system infrastructure. Strong knowledge in hardware/software architecture and operating system fundamentals (Unix and Linux distributions).Bachelors degree

JDBC, JMS, EJB's, Servlets, SOAP containers
Clustering WebLogic instances.
Monitoring and Performance tuning using WebLogic inbuilt tools.
Scripting to automate the WebLogic tasks
Troubleshooting knowledge for Java applications Includes, thread dump analyses
Apache 2.x, Netegrity SiteMinder Web AgentDesired: Minimum three years developing and supporting information systems.
