Validation Technician - Storage Technologies

We are a preferred IT/Engineering staffing firm seeking the following qualified professional for a leading global semiconductor company:

Position Title: Software Technician

Project Description:
Software testing on large software program (driver, UI). The storage program is a key SW component of Mobility Chipset Group.

Daily Responsibilities:
Software technicians will be executing test scripts on Windows OS platforms, reporting test pass and failure data and will be assisting in debugging.
REQUIREMENTS
Years of Experience Desired: 3 year mid-senior level experience

Necessary Skills (Must Have):
1. Proven understanding of Intel based PC architecture
2. Experience installing software and drivers on Windows operating systems.
3. Experience in executing manual and automated test scripts and reporting te st pass/fail data in a controlled QA environment - experience using source control tools, defect tracking tools
4. Good communication/presentation skills and the ability to communicate to others the technical viability of their analysis
5. Ability to proactively try different solutions to debug issues and include information in technical analysis/bug reports

Additional Skills Desired (Nice to Have):
1. Experience configuring Intel processor based/Windows OS systems (adding HW, graphics cards, hard drives, installing drivers, troubleshooting issues)
2. Scripting language experience (intermediate)
3. C++ experience (intermediate)
4. A desire to work with the newest technology and to learn and deal with the resulting challenges
