Unix System Administrator - 5 openings

Job Summary: The IT Operations team is looking for experienced Systems Administrators to improve, maintain, manage, and operate our core infrastructure systems and storage environment. This position requires an active participation in the day-to-day management and operations of our Unix systems. Technical excellence, innovation, and vision for advancing our storage infrastructure are important aspects of the job. Essential Functions: Unix Administrators performs installation, upgrades, configuration and administration of Unix and Red Hat Linux systems. Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, NFS, NIS, DNS, UNIX account management, file permissions, security considerations, and clustering technologies such as Veritas are all essential to success. Responsibilities also include coding and scripting: unix scripts, perl, shell scripts to enable system performance, capacity planning and tuning. Monitoring and management of infrastructure services such as FTP, DNS, NIS, BIND, Veritas Cluster Server, Sendmail and SysLogging


Requirements:

Requirements: Unix - 5 years Solaris 3-5 years. Must have experience in a large scale environment. Must have strong experience with Network Appliance filers. All applicants must have strong experience with Sun Solaris, AIX, Perl Scripting, Bourne Scripting, Veritas Netbackup or other enterprise backup software.
Must have a solid understanding of storage area networks, Fiber Channel Switched Fabric, data replication techniques, and limitations and benefits of each.Must have an understanding LUNs, disk based backup technologies, iSCSI, Red Hat Linux, Fujitsu and Sun hardware. Strong knowledge in Veritas Cluster Server; working knowledge in replication technologies (ex: snapmirror); take initiative in identifying and fixing broken processes; ability to conduct meetings; ability do drive/lead problem resolution process to root cause; excellent understanding of disaster recovery components; excellent Perl knowledge; strong leadership skills. Tivoli experience is a plus.
