Tier 1 Support Specialist

Prestigious Chicagoland residential real estate sales company dedicated to being innovative and technologically progressive, is seeking a tier 1 tech support specialist to join our team. The position will provide tier 1 hardware and software support throughout the organization. Participates in network maintenance and support activities such as hardware installations, software installations, back-ups, establishment of user accounts, background job runs, etc. May work on simple applications for departmental use or participate in other projects within the organization. Maintains high level of technical skill in field of expertise.
REQUIREMENTS
Principal ResponsibilitiesProvide tier 1 end-user support via telephone or face-to-face.
Works with users to solve problems with available technology including hardware, software and peripherals.
Installs hardware, software and peripherals. Troubleshoots basic hardware and software problems.
Performs general tasks to aid in the ongoing support of the client server environment.
Manages and documents user interaction and resolutions.
Recommends system and process modifications to reduce user problems and improve customer service.
Assists with general system maintenance.
Provides superior customer service.
Job RequirementsBachelor’s degree or the equivalent through a combination of education and work experience.
2+ year job experience in related field.
Experience in hardware and software support and troubleshooting in a stand-alone and networked environment.
Superior customer service skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Experience working with Microsoft networking technologies.
Ability to travel between offices throughout downtown Chicago and Northern Suburbs.Skills & QualificationsExcellent communication skills – both oral and written.
Ability to develop effective working relationship with all levels of personnel.
Highly self-motivated and directed.
Ability to work quickly and efficiently in high-pressure environment while maintaining a calm, polite demeanor.
