Testing Analyst

SUMMARY:
Serves in the evaluation, recommendation, and implementation of testing strategies and methodologies.

- Analyzes software development and banking operational/business environments to determine the extent and types of testing required to validate technical, functional, and business requirements.
- Designs, develops and executes functional and technical test plans, test scenarios, test cases, test scripts, that will exercise and stress transactional processing, financial calculations, data I/O, query-based requests, and complex or non-complex financial reporting.
- Establishes testing methodologies and processes to include unit/integration/COTS integration/systems integration/installation, and user acceptance testing.
- Establishes and maintains test environments that will achieve successful test results.
- Identifies, collects, and documents test results and metrics.

KEY DIFFERENCES:
- Entry Level Tester.
- Assists Senior Testers.
- Performs project level testing activities in support of customer/client test initiatives.
- Uses, with proficiency, automated testing tools within each test environment, as appropriate.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Technology, or related Technical Field; related experience may be substituted for formal education on a year for year basis.
- 3 years experience of software/systems testing & analysis in support of full-lifecycle software application and database development in a distributed financial of banking systems environment.
- Must demonstrate, based on previous experience and current skill-sets, the ability to design, develop, and implement non-complex testing solutions including load, stress, performance, degradation, functional, and logic testing in a distributed (client-server, desktop, and web-based systems).
- Must have both white-box & black box testing experience preferably of VB, C++, HTML, Coldfusion applications and SQL-Server and Access databases.
- Additional exp. with Websphere, .NET, J2EE, Mercury, and Compuware test tools a plus.
- Candidates with COTS/3rd Party/Vendor integration testing experience will be given primary consideration.
