Teradata Data Warehouse Developer

Purpose: Teksystems is currently seeking individuals for a large client.


Our client is looking for candidates to do Support Tasks;
-24 x 7 Support for Interface/Load Processes. Ready for after-hours support within 1 month. After-hours rotation of 1 week every 3-4 weeks.
- Support different DW load architectures for EXP, LTD, and BBW. Mix of manual ETL, Tibco, and OleLoad. Learn Control-M automated scheduler tool.
- Follow-up from nighttime issues, determination/coding/install of permanent fixes to the issues, coordination across various platform Support teams based on bad data scenarios.
- Completion of relevant paperwork as required by Sarbanes/Oxley.
- Assist in evaluating DW performance issues and giving options to improve.

Development Tasks
- Setup/Code/Test some V2R6 Enhancements, environment setup and system testing of V2R6 functionality against current DW Versions at EXP, LTD, and BBW.
- Coding/Test temporary interfaces to current state DW environments as required by various projects. Manual ETL or Datastage tool ETL TBD.
- Part-time DW Testing work for various projects.


Qualified candidates will have strong SQL skills, 2+ years hands on experience with (1)Teradata Utilities (Fastload & Multiload), (2)BTEQ, (3)Cornshell-scripting in Unix environment, 6+ months experience in Teradata V2R5 and/or V2R6 environments, good communication skills.

Preferred: Experience working at a Retail Company, Teradata Master Certification, DW tuning experience, Experience working after-hours support, Experience with OLE-load utility,
Experience with Tibco Messaging and Tibcom IM, Experience with defining/tuning Teradata PPIs and other Indexes, Experience with Ascential Datastage ETL tool, Experience with Control-M Automated Scheduling package.


Retail experience a plus.
