Technologies Expert-Architect

Provides the necessary leadership, analysis and design considerations related to the development, implementation and planning of portfolio-level technology architecture. Lead decision-making processes for determining, developing and owning the portfolio architectures for the Global Corp. Technologies organization which services AXP enterprise HQ functions that span AmexWeb Intranet and Workplace Technologies, Corporate Affairs and Communications, Global Advertising and Brand management, and the General Council Office. Make decisions about the design, direction and pace of portfolio technology development, making trade-offs in integrating, consolidating and eliminating technologies, and gain support for key initiatives for GCT lines of business. Provide architectural leadership and mentoring to the VP's, and senior business partners. Act as the primary architectural resource for the VP's and project teams, providing direction on architectural standards, industry and business trends, and demonstrating the value of the AET architecture direction in business terms. Provide key feedback to leadership on how the architecture is being used to align and leverage multiple portfolios against each other. Act as the lead advocate for technology's strategic direction within these GCT organizations and business partners, explaining strategic initiatives and the value they deliver. Must have ability to actively contribute to the exchange of ideas and lead & govern a team of Project Architects responsible for the platforms and applications within these portfolios.Job Requirements5 years demonstrated ability and experience in an Architectural capacity. Broad and deep knowledge of multiple AXP technologies and platforms. Demonstrated ability to support multiple VP's both from a technical and strategic perspective, incorporating innovation skills and delivery of results. Must be a known and effective collaborator and influencer, and a respected technologist who is viewed as a thought leader and partner. Strong knowledge about relevant industry solutions and developments for technology within the scope of the portfolio. Strong presentation/verbal communication skills and the ability to train and mentor other technologists and business partners appropriately. Proven ability to drive results with emphasis on reducing cycle time and increasing speed to market of new products. Must have strong business acumen and the ability to identify key issues and their impact in a broad business context. Technical certification preferred. Experience of interactive and collaboration technologies, and work with 3rd party hosting and ASP business capabilities preferred.
