TECHNICIAN, FIELD SERVICES


Overview:FSG has an immediately need for a Technician, Field Services. Responsible for service and repair of business systems equipment to include PCs, Telecom, Data, and/or Point-Of-Sale in a retail environment. Provide on-site diagnosis, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, installations, set up and repair of FSG systems. Work assignments are structured to provide opportunities to learn and apply new skills.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs daily repairs to hardware and software. Assists with equipment hardware and software installation and where required, maintains and installs wiring.
Assists in basic testing, adjustment and troubleshooting of equipment as necessary.
Keeps management informed on a timely basis of progress, status and/or concerns for each project. Interfaces with other Field Service personnel and store personnel in proper operation and support of FSG systems.
Uses electronic diagnostic and repair equipment, technical drawings, manufacturers manuals and other documentation. Know and follows safe work practices.
May be required to provide after hours support.
Follows established procedures for time and expense recording.
Provides timely response and resolution to assigned problem tickets.
Ability to travel independently within a defined region.
Willingness to acquire and apply new knowledge and skills necessary to support POS, PC, Communication and FSG systems.Under general supervision, provides on-site diagnosis, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, installation, set up and repair of FSG systems.
SKILLS SUMMARY: Minimum of 3 years experience in the support and repair of electronic equipment including POS, Communication, PC s, etc.
Problem solving, troubleshooting skills.
Ability to effectively communicate within own group and with store personnel.
Strong customer focus. Sense of urgency and flexible to changing circumstances and customer needs.
Mentoring and training skills.
Strong knowledge of PCs, understanding and use of Windows Operating System, Windows Office products and communication software.
Basic knowledge of data network connectivity.
Strong communication and organization skills.
Bachelors degree preferred. In lieu of a Bachelors degree, we will accept equivalent in education and/or experience.
Requires standing, bending and lifting up to 25 pounds.Minimum of 3 years experience in the support and repair of electronic equipment including POS, Communication, PC s, etc.
