Technical Writers contribute to and work from deliverable design documents, communicate with technical staff, and use the products they document. The deliverables must be appropriate for the intended audience and follow Technical Publications standards. Technical Writers typically work closely with other writers. The Wily Technology Division of CA seeks a Technical Writer to join the Technical Publications team. The writer will develop and maintain user documentation for Wily Introscope and extension products.
Key responsibilities include working with product management and developers to understand Wily customer requirements and environments, and Wily product features and usage. This position will install, run, and maintain hands-on familiarity with Wily products, create accurate documentation, and work with manager and other writers to apply or adapt Wily documentation standards to new products. Reviewing, estimating and planning document corrections and enhancements, as requested by document reviewers and creating and contributing to documentation plans. The Technical Writer will write conceptual, reference, and procedural documentation, including on-line help, work with QA personnel and document reviewers to ensure correct, complete, usable documentation, and develop an in-depth understanding of our products--not just editing and publishing the inputs provided by software developers and subject matter experts.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Technical Writing, English. Master's Degree in Technical Writing or English desired with typically 1 to 5 years in Technical Publications. Candidates should have strong analytical skills and be committed to the task of creating world-class documents that definitively specify the behavior of Wily products.It's an exciting time at CA.
