Technical Lead

This resource will be responsible for leading the technical effort for the eCustomer Enhancement and Support team. Specific responsibilities include leading the technical design of Business Services for southwest.com and Rapid Rewards, build, testing, data conversion, and reporting efforts, including creating and/or reviewing documentation and code. This resource will also be responsible for estimating and planning the technical effort and working closely with the Project Manager to build these efforts into an overall project plan and provide regular status. This resource will be the technical point-of-contact for production support for the deliverables of the team and will own any issues or problems. The candidate filling this position will be expected to communicate effectively with Business groups at all levels (Analysts through Executives). This position does not include on-call responsibilities, except in critical periods of a project. However this position is responsible for the 24x7 escalation level support for on-call responsibilities.


Requirements:

Minimum 7 years translating requirements into a solid technical design and solution, including architecture diagrams and design documents. Minimum 7 years leading technical project efforts, including project planning, design, build, test, data conversion/migration, and report design and build. Minimum 7 years of OOA&D, Design Patterns & UML experience. Minimum 5 years of C++, Java, Corba, Oracle PL/SQL, Perl development. Experience with Messaging Services MQSeries & Tibco. Experience with distributed transaction management using C++/Java/Corba services.
Minimum 7 years as part of a Team implementing solutions using a Systems Development Lifecycle Methodology. Minimum 5 years demonstrated ability to conduct and/or lead discussions with Customers, Vendors, and Technology Leadership. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to quickly develop an understanding of the business, including its functions, technical landscape, and priorities. Ability to mentor other developers on the team. Ability to provide leadership to complete design solutions, write code, perform testing, provide documentation and implement development projects. Ability to quickly analyze and resolve complex or multiple problems.
