Technical Designer

Purpose: Test Design and Implementation Developer We are requiring at least 2 years of hand-on web development experience to include HTML, XML, XSLT, and VB Scripting. Familiarity with Macros is also required. Candidates with academic knowledge of web development only can not be considered.

Job Summary
Participate in the design and implementation of Test Production plans, including requirements definition and scheduling as appropriate.
- Design, incorporate necessary changes to exam source files, in the adaptation of paper and pencil exams to computerized format, and coordinate changes with appropriate internal parties.
- Design and construct tests to TID and Exam Parameter specifications.
- Assure accuracy and quality of finished product is a must.
-Troubleshoot software and operational problems and provide support to Clients and Client Services on software and technical issues.
- Completion of special projects as assigned by supervisor.
- Participation in the test design process by interacting with various departments located in many locations throughout the world.

Job Description
Participate in the development of program implementation plans, including requirements definition and scheduling as appropriate.
- Analyze client requirements and provide technology-based solutions that are compatible with current platforms, software offerings and delivery processes.
- Import and distribute computer-based test resources and surveys using a proprietary production and distribution system. Establish links to test package components.
- Maintain control of test source code and revision histories.
- Verify functionality of tests
- Review tests and report typographical errors, formatting errors, internal inconsistencies, and other quality problems.
- Troubleshoot software and operational problems.
- Train clients in the use of test construction software and provide ongoing technical support.

Qualifications

2+ years of web development experience
Ability to learn to construct tests using a proprietary test definition language, i.e. perform technical design work.
- Good overall technical skills; working knowledge of MS-DOS, Windows and a wide variety of IBM PC software, including advanced MS Office skills.
- Good communication, organizational, and problem solving skills; detail oriented, flexible and thorough
- Interest in language, grammar, and punctuation, plus proven proofreading experience
- Knowledge of HTML required
- Knowledge of VBScript, Javascript, and XML required

- Strong at assessing requirements of new projects.
- Project experience in a product-development setting (preferably software) a plus.
- Bachelor's degree required (relevant experience may be substituted).
