Technical Consultant

Dimension & Scope:

This position formulates and defines system scope and objectives for assigned projects and is responsible for program design; coding; testing; debugging; and documentation. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations; operating time; and form of desired results in addition to preparing detailed specifications from which programs will be written. This position
has full technical knowledge of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

This is a technical consultant position within the Convergys CTI platform engineering organization. The person who secures this position will act as a Senior Developer and/or Development Lead on discretionary as well as client implementation projects. A preferred candidate is expected to be versed in a number of different advanced technologies or at the very least be very experienced in current technologies with a thirst to learn and apply new and evolving technologies. Examples would include SOA Web Services, J2EE, VoIP, and SIP. The ideal candidate is highly motivated and has a solid technical background with experience in the practical application of those technologies. A preferred candidate has exposure to a variety of different applications of technology including but not limited to CTI contact center specific solutions. A preferred candidate should have experience acting in a technical leadership role and should possess excellent collaboration skills. The candidate must be willing to lead and participate in all aspects of a project lifecycle including business and technical analysis design development and testing.



REQUIREMENTS
Education & Professional Certifications:


Bachelor’s Degree in related technical discipline

And

Six years relevant experience

Or

Master’s Degree in related technical discipline

And

Four years relevant experience

Or

Eleven years relevant experience without college degree.


Candidate Profile:


* Experience working with multiple platforms (e.g., MVS, UNIX, NT, PC).

* Possesses advanced “Performance engineering skills” (i.e., ability to
predict and build performance into systems rather than doing it later).

* Proven project management ability.

* Proven analytical and communication skills along with the ability to work in a dynamic environment.

* Customer service and detail oriented.

* Excellent oral and written communication skills.

* Experience and knowledge of .NET, C+, C++, Java, and web technologies is a must.

* Experience and knowledge of contact center technologies CTI software
development methodology's software architecture and design patterns is
desired.

* Experience in designing and implementing VoIP and SIP based solutions is a plus.
