Systems Specialist (On-line Learning Systems Administrator)

The University of Kansas Medical Center has an immediate opening for an Online Learning Systems Administrator in the Teaching and Learning Technologies unit to manage the various “online” content delivery, communication, and survey/assessment applications. Applications include ANGEL Learning, Elluminate Live!, and other online applications that support teaching and learning at KUMC. Position works collaboratively with TLT and other Information Resources staff. Responsible for managing the online applications listed above; creating courses, sessions, and enrolling users; creating custom SQL queries and scripts; and keeping a library of all online courses and content. This individual will also assist Customer Support in troubleshooting problems and providing end-user support. Previous administration experience with an online teaching and learning management is a must. Minimum requirements include Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information management or in any related discipline plus 2-3 years of demonstrated systems administration experience. Additional work experience in learning systems administration may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis.

REQUIREMENTS
Requires Bachelor's degree in computer science, information management or in any related discipline plus 2-3 years of demonstrated systems administration experience. Additional work experience in learning systems administration may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis.
Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Windows server operating systems
2-3 years administration of a Learning Management System (e.g., ANGEL Learning, WebCT, Blackboard, etc.)
2-3 years experience with Transact-SQL (T-SQL), creating queries, custom scripts, and reports
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous learning systems management experience with ANGEL Learning
Previous systems management experience with Elluminate Live!
Demonstrated organizational and project management skills
Previous experience programming in ASP.NET
3-5 years systems administration experience
2-3 years administration of web servers and web applications
Previous experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and SQL Server 2005
