Implements system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the infrastructure. Ensure data/media recoverability by maintaining a schedule of backups and archive operations. Reviews, develops and maintains a comprehensive library of detailed technical designs, implementation plans and processes and procedures to support the service. Strong engagement with development team, vendors and IT application owners using the IBM Mainframe and AS400 infrastructure and tools.Service Support owner responsible for IBM mainframe, AS400 and associated tools and technologies.
Manage service support improvement plans to continually improve the support offering.
Focus on incident prevention through the use of problem management and drive incident rates down.
Drive incident Mean Time To Restore (MTTR) down through training, processes and a high sense of urgency from the critical support team.
Mentoring and cross-training of support team members.
Execution of service requests across multiple technologies.
Continuous quality assurance of all support processes.
Identification of gaps in procedures and processes for computing systems.
Isolation and diagnosis of complex system problems including impact analysis, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Cross functional coordination and collaboration using extensive problem solving skills.
Proactive monitoring of system availability, performance and capacity across Enterprise-wide applications and platforms.
Determination and assignment of appropriate service support priorities and escalation as required.
Exploitation of systems management tools and technologies to proactively identify potential problem situations.
Drive delivery of optimal performance, availability and recovery solutions in support of enterprise-wide business operations.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a self-directed, self-motivated work environment.
Establishment of credibility via a strong partnership with development teams, customers, vendors and across ISS while delivering on their expectations.Four-year college degree in computer science, information systems or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Demonstrated proficiency in IBM Mainframe, AS400, DB2, Unicenter, BMC Patrol, CA7, Control-M and Robot technologies. 5+ years experience preferred.
Experience with enterprise backup technology preferred.
Strong analytical, prioritization and extensive problem solving skills required.
Demonstrated experience providing immediate response to system problems.
Excellent interpersonal, change management and communication skills.
Demonstrated collaboration skills with customers and vendors.
Strong desire for knowledge; adaptability and flexibility in a fast changing environment.
5+ years experience working with cross-functional information technology teams.
Strong understanding of process development and project management.
Must have ability to work non-standard hours and be on-call for support and installations.
Results oriented individual that can work multiple priorities independently on a variety of technical infrastructure.
Strong desire to learn and motivated to do quality work in a structured fashion.
Ability to work effectively with development and support, infrastructure and application teams, vendors and ISS team members at all levels.
