Systems Availability Specialist

The Candidate will help the I.T. Systems Availability processes for Verizon Wireless. This individual will act as a liaison between Headquarters and Area/Regional I.T., responsible for coordinating common processes for Systems Availability across the Verizon footprint. This will include establishing training, communication, reporting and quality control reviews. The individual will be involved in the daily review and reporting of Systems Availability. In addition, the person will facilitate meetings with outage owners to review trends and corrective actions for recent outages. Identifying root cause and ensuring the implementation of corrective action will also be a part of the responsibilities. The candidate will help project lead for ongoing development of availability applications.
Job Requirements
3 + yrs experience in montoring, tracking, controlling and reporting systems availability metrics

Bachelors Degree Preferred.
Strong technical and analytical skills to understand application, hardware, network, and architectural designs

Understand the functionality of the billing systems and other applications to which interfaces

Ability to work with numbers and understand departmental Metrics

Understanding of Database and ability to query and access data

Good time management and organizational skills and be able to effectively manage multiple projects.

Strong business knowledge

In depth knowledge of information systems concepts

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Good logical analysis and troubleshooting skills

PC and desktop applications competency (e.g., MS Office - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint etc.)

Strong interpersonal and team skills

Ability to work effectively in both an independent manner and as part of a team.
