Job Description: System Administrator
The Systems Administration position requires a versatile technical individual with a background in implementing and supporting production systems, primarily Windows and some Unix (AIX). This individual is responsible for performing the following duties: management of an online network environment, connectivity to email systems, and corporate and production system support/management. They must be able to evaluate, recommend and support policy and procedures for servers, routers, switches, and hardware systems, administrative system hardware environment and web hardware and connectivity. They will be directly responsible for the implementations and the maintenance of networked systems, infrastructure, and other related sub-systems to provide efficient resource utilization and performance. In addition, they will be involved in procurement recommendations.
System Administrator· Monitor and maintain the production communications infrastructure, including capacity monitoring and analysis.
· Provides 7x24 on-call pager support as part of a team effort for supported systems.
· Participates cross-functionally, as part of a team to provide support for new infrastructure and applications.
· Monitors and Makes Recommendations for Site Configuration. · Maintains a detailed knowledge of the production environment and works closely with both Production SAs and System Engineering personnel to understand all integration issues associated with the production environment.
· Technical Reviews and product evaluations. Performs detailed technical evaluations of hardware and software.§ Analyze, trouble shoot, and resolve complex technical problems that impact production and corporate systems within the organization. Documentation and appropriate escalation is requisite in this process.
· Performs SDLC roles/functions required for the implementation and support of technology in to the production and corporate environments.You must be knowledgeable and have experience in the following:
· TCP/IP networks, subnetting, and IP protocols (HTTP, HTPPS, FTP, SMTP, DNS, NAT, WINS, etc.)· Load balancing devices (F5)
· Administering web-server software (IIS)
· Must have an ability to move heavy supplies/equipment (50 lbs) · Experience with Windows NT/2000/2003/XP (Active Directory, system policies)
· Experience with UNIX based operating systems (AIX, BSD, Linux)
· Experience building out Microsoft servers
· A minimum of 3 years experience in system administration / supporting IT infrastructure (hardware, operating systems, LAN/WAN, DNS, TCPIP, WINS, DHCP, and IIS)
