Systems Administrator--Linux

Assists in site administration for a national mail order company. Specific responsibilities include installation and maintenance of servers and networking equipment, responding to and resolving end user trouble calls, and performing product evaluation and making purchase recommendations. Contributes to our company's growth by helping to improve the use of computing technologies.

REQUIREMENTS


-Three-five years systems administration experience, preferably Red Hat Linux. Proficient and knowledgeable with most aspects of Linux systems administration.

-Degree in Computer Science a plus

-Ability to write programs in administrative languages (i.e. bash, ksh, PERL, Python)

-Working knowledge of how to install and use open source software

-Working knowledge of networking/distributed computing environments

-A solid understanding of TCP/IP protocols, routers, switches and firewalls

-Excellent interpersonal skills and good verbal and written communication
