Support Specialist / Operations Lead / Systems Engineer

Servers / Domains / Software:
AugustaIT is looking for a high-level server and network support specialist to join our team of IT support technicians. Candidate musts have a current MCSE/MCSA certification and have extensive knowledge of design, implementation, and support of Server 2000, Server 2003, Small Business Server 2003, Exchange 2000 and Exchange 2003, and SQL 2000. Routine duties will include monitoring data backup, applying security patches as necessary, and assuring maximum uptime for the equipment. Occasional third party software support will be required. Dell server hardware is used exclusively.

Networking:
Candidate must have an extensive understanding of networking concepts, including subnetting, VPNs, and routing in both LAN/WAN and wireless networks. Hardware used includes Dell, SonicWall, Linksys and Cisco. Networking certifications are favored.

Operations Lead:
Candidate must have the ability to assess client sites, including existing infrastructure as well as new construction. In an existing infrastructure, candidate must be able to accurately ascertain the existing topology and configuration, making recommendations to management for improvements to the network. In a new infrastructure, candidate must be able to determine the time and materials required to develop a proposal, consulting with management to determine recommendations for networking and computer hardware and wiring/wireless solution to be implemented that meets the needs of the customer. Candidate will be expected to develop time/materials cost for wiring/wireless requirements of the job.
Candidate will be responsible for developing best practices in implementation and maintenance, and will oversee network installations insuring quality control and adhesion to the scope of work. Candidate will participate heavily in pre-sales engineering and project management.
