Sr Technologist, Systems Development

The main responsibility of this position is to support projects in Pharmacogenomics and Pharmacogenetics which have been identified as key areas in the new Drug Development process (DELPhI) and are regarded as core competencies in the business and in IT (Application Provision). The Solution Architect would be responsible for:The development, communication, maintenance, and enforcement for the overall architecture of the information system built within the project (application, data, and technical infrastructure).The integrity of design, communications and interfaces between application subsystems and supporting databases.Ensuring that performance and capacity requirements are addressed and key technology decisions are taken in a professional manner.Assuring that the project deliverables are aligned with the relevant Novartis IT Strategy and Architecture definitions.Supporting interface development to other applications or systems and publication of the interface specificationsThe preparation and leading the team in the unit- and OQ-testing processesTechnical team leadership or coordination of the team.Understanding business requirements and ensuring that the solution provided meets requirementsThe development of IT solutions which support gene micro array, SNP, and PCR data and their analysis.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree in Bioinformatics or Computer Science preferred.
The incumbent should have strong background in implementation of IT systems.
Individual must have 5-7 years experience with a background in Bioinformatics or Computational Biology.
Candidate must have experience leading/coordinating a Technical team.
