We encourage our associates to develop original, creative solutions to meet the challenges of our internal operations and our large client base.DST Systems, Inc., a leading provider of sophisticated information processing, computer software services and business solutions to the financial services, communications and healthcare industries, seeks a Senior Systems Programmer for its AWD Data Center business unit which uses IBM iSeries technology. ; The optimal candidate will have at least 5 years experience working with the IBM iSeries platform, 5 years programming experience with Cobol and/or Java, excellent written and oral communication skills, strong OS/400 operating system expertise, and hands-on experience related to high availability software (e.g. Mimix). ; This role will involve working with high-availability database systems environments (e.g. Mimix), installing/configuring software, developing automated processes/customized monitoring tools, and performing periodic capacity planning. Daily responsibilities include documenting processes, level 2 product support for external clients, planning, testing and implementation of long-term projects; and providing assistance to entry-level programming staff. A proven work history with IBM iSeries, DB2 database environments, and programming experience in COBOL, CL, and JAVA is highly desirable, however applicants demonstrating technical proficiency in similar disciplines will be considered.Qualifications
