Sr. Systems Analyst

Position Description:
Analyzes, designs, and prepares or selects new systems/technologies in order to meet internal and external user requirements. Provides assistance and work direction to other team members to ensure a well-trained and qualified staff.

- Leads and coordinates project teams consisting of management, users, IT staff, and vendors, under limited supervision.
- Provides financial input to IT Management on department or project budgets, capital expenditures or other cost estimates as requested.
- Supports existing systems and large projects.
- Responsible for project organization and execution and participates in design, assists in vendor evaluation, implementation, and management of: multiple projects.
- Provides technical direction and supervision to analyst staff in the development and implementation of systems or in problem solving.
- Performs analysis and makes recommendations in areas that require a high level of technical competency.
- May design data bases and data dictionary criteria if no DBA role exists.
- Performs a variety of complex programming tasks, such as designing, documenting, and coding program logic.
- Makes short term plans for the team to effectively utilize resources.
- Manages customer satisfaction process taking accountability for addressing concerns.
- Provides estimates of work effort for client projects.
- Functions as a technical resource for the other team members.
- Provides technical training, guidance, and resource support for Departmental staff.
- Provides application support and enhancements to existing applications. Defines system requirements, priorities, and viable alternatives. Coordinates the efforts of staff to locate, assess, install, test, and maintain computer software systems. Coordinates conversions and upgrades to vendor systems.
- Performs as a project lead and directs systems analysts. Provides leadership and coordination on projects assigned to systems analysts.

Position Requirements:
Bachelor Degree, with a technology or business emphasis, or equivalent education/experience.
7 years experience.
Strong communication skills and positive attitude.
Experience in systems analysis and/or programming required with project management or leadership responsibilities.
Extensive experience in the use of Object Oriented analysis and design (using UML), JAVA and J2EE principals ( Servlets, JSP, EJBs, XML, WebServices, JMS) in component based architecture, relational databases and web site design and implementation.
RUP, SQL Server 2000, BEA Weblogic, Tibco, Colfusion MX are a plus.
