Full Job Title: Sr. Software Architect - Satellite Development Skills Management Title Embedded SoftwareJob Level: EXEMPTBusiness Component: Integrated Defense Systems (IDS)Job Description: The SW Architect will provide essential technical leadership in guiding the development of satellite software. The incumbent will be responsible for definition of the software architecture based on defined system requirements, and execution of the SW design and development activities, including sizing and estimation. The SW Architect will provide technical direction and oversight to the identified SW leads and their teams to ensure the successful execution of the SW development tasks using defined methods and procedures. Good communication skills and weekly communications/contact is required. Interface across the Program IPTs will be a key responsibility in insuring a fully integrated and successful solution. The position may involve some local travel to other Boeing and supplier facilities. Competencies Candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and experience with the software development lifecycle. Candidate must be experienced in the design, project engineering, modeling and simulation of the elements of a software development program. A demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of engineering personnel in an IPT environment and to balance schedule, and technical risks to meet program and customer objectives is required. Candidate must have participated in all phases of software lifecycle management. Must be proficient with C++; Object Oriented development; UML and RUP. Experience with Power PC processor and real time operating system as such as Vxworks or Integrity is desired. Experience in software subcontract management, software cost estimating, software reuse, COTS/GOTS, and CMMI Level 5 software process implementation is desired. Domain experience in satellite software systems, software systems architecture development, technical analysis/evaluation techniques, and engineering processes is desired. Typically persons in this position would possess 18 years or more related software development experience.Notes: Must be able to obtain the following clearances: SSBI and Secret. U.S. Citizenship required.
