Sr. Project Manager - IT Outsourcing

Covestic is looking for a Senior Project Manager to work within the PMO of an IT Outsourcing Company based in Chicago. In this role, you will be responsible for managing one or more key client projects, overseeing and coaching Project Managers and contributing to the development of PMO processes and infrastructure. The primary responsibilities of the Senior Project Manager include:
-Building client relationships and ensuring requirements are understood and met.
-Managing high priority IT projects and operations ranging from applications development and systems integration to infrastructure implementation and operational support.
-Developing PMO processes and infrastructure to more efficiently manage projects and operational activities within the organization.
-Overseeing the activities of more junior Project Managers and IT Operations personnel.
REQUIREMENTS
-5+ years IT Project Management experience. PMO Experience preferred.
-Mix of consulting, IT and Operations experience desired in areas such as: application development, systems integration, data warehousing, IT infrastructure implementation, performance monitoring, etc'
-Demonstrated success delivering medium-sized projects to plan (6-9 months, 15-25 resources, $1-5 million)
-Experience working with external customers and 3rd party vendors.
-In-depth understanding of project delivery processes and best practices. Working knowledge of Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK). PMP Certification preferred.
-Solid relationship building skills including: facilitation, negotiation, consensus-building and conflict resolution.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present effectively to both business and technical audiences.
-Ability to mentor a team of project managers and operations personnel on best practices. Track record of building high performing teams.
-Proficient with MS Office Tools (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project).
