Sr. Oracle Software Engineer

Purpose: Our end client in the retail industry is currently seeking a Sr. Oracle Software Engineer for a contract to full time assignment .Responsibilities will include working directly with management, end users and team members to analyze functional requirements for web / database applications; construct and deploy applications using Oracle technology. Demonstrated proficiency in all aspects of systems development life cycle, configuration management, structured analysis and design techniques. Must have strong project management experience with only general oversight. Must understand the impact, risks, implications and costs of recommendations. Assist with projects and on-call as required.
Define user requirements.
Develop applications using Oracle toolkit and Java based on user requirements.
Implement Discoverer and Portal on the Intranet.
Perform ETL using UNIX scripting and Oracle utilities.
Responsible for applications Support.
Bachelors of Science in Computer Science.
Oracle Certified Developer.
Minimum of five years experience as an Oracle developer.
Good understanding of System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Ability to work independently and as a team member.
Retail industry Experience is a plus.
Thorough understanding of Oracle RDBMS concepts and Development Toolkit.
Expert Knowledge on Data Manipulation Language (DML) and Data Dictionary Language (DDL) for database objects; objects such as tables, indexes, procedures, functions, packages and triggers.
Expert Knowledge HTML, JavaScript, and Oracle Development toolkit including Form, Report, Discoverer, Portal, PL/SQL, SQL*Plus and MOD_PLSQL (HTP and HTF).
Good understanding on how to tune query using explain plan, tkprof etc?
Good understanding of Linux and UNIX including scripting.
Knowledge of Oracle Application Server key features include OID (Oracle Internet Directory), SSO (Single Sign On), MOD_PL/SQL, Form, Report, Discover, Portal and Java.Classification:Contract-to-HireCompensation:
