Sr. Mngr., Application Development & Support

Employment Type: Regular Full/Part Time: Full Time Division: IT Location: Madisonville Office Building, Cincinnati, OHGENERAL FUNCTION: Manages system analysis, application development and support of strategic IT projects in the following areas of the Bank: Corp. Facilities, HR Systems, Legal Systems, Information Security, Corp. Communication and all business units requesting employee servicing applications. This includes full systems development life cycle support of purchased vendor packages and/or internally developed code. Functions in a lead role as it relates to project and staff management. Directs development teams in the areas of scheduling, technical direction, planning and development practices. Initiates and participates in budgeting, appropriation process and quality programs for development organization. Meets project milestones and supports/drives project management methodology. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages production environment for department applications including change management, issue resolution, after-hours support and disaster recovery.
Transitions products from development to production
Evaluates application performance using project management, quality program methodology.
Partners with business leadership to deliver technical/business solutions and establish project priorities
Ensures that project staffing and resource needs are met in assigned area. Ensures project completion on time and within budget.
Develops processes and procedures to implement functional strategies
Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinates work activities with other supervisors. Hold team accountable for milestone deliverables.
Interprets business issues and adapts work priorities in own area.
Anticipates and interprets customer needs to identify solutions.
Has in-depth expertise of supported business areas and knowledge of the related business areas.
Manages budget for own area and allocates resources accordingly.
May manage vendor relationships
Ensures tactical initiatives are aligned with the strategic vision.
Keeps current with trends and technological innovations in the banking and IT industry, and makes appropriate development recommendations.
Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.
Leads and develops employees to function as a high performance team.
Develops talent in the organization for succession management/leadership opportunities. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Function in a leadership role providing training and development, coaching and feedback to team members. Responsible for salary administration/performance management and staff development. Job RequirementsMINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Evidence of strong relationship-building and leadership skills
Proven Knowledge of management in an IT applications environment supporting multiple apps.
Prior experience in the following environments: - intranet application development and support - IBM portal platform (Websphere) - Open Systems platform
Prior Project Management experience required, and familiarity with project management methodologies.
Demonstrated experience with quality iniatives and process improvement
Prior demonstration of complex coordination and interaction across LOB boundaries.
Typically has 7 to 10 years of IT and business/industry work experience in managing teams or projects in systems analysis and/or programming functions. E.O.E., M/F/D/V
