Sr Java/J2EE developer
This position requires a professional, who is highly experienced in the discipline of Web application development to help configure, test, install, and maintain Client new System.The candidate must have a thorough understanding of Web technologies, 3-Tier Web application development, Unix Systems, Oracle, PL/SQL, Perl, and XML, and the ability to understand how the three layers work together. Responsibilities include supporting the Kiosk Ticketing System, ensuring that all components work well together, provide testing support, keep all supporting software updated, provide front line support for system failures, and work closely with requirements and development teams to implement new features on the system.
The candidate must:
(1) have at least 5 years of experience as a support engineer in the design, development, testing, deployment and support of business critical web applications with high availability requirements,
(2) have experience in integrating web applications with legacy mainframe applications,
(3) be able to break down complex tasks into manageable pieces,
(4) be able to work independently on multiple concurrent tasks,
(5) have the ability to estimate reliably the time, effort and resources required for completing a task, and
(6) have the ability to complete tasks on time and within budget. Experience implementing Web solutions in the travel industry is desired (booking engines and content management systems).
Excellent presentation and written communication skills and the ability to work closely with peers and team members in a collaborative manner

REQUIREMENTS
The candidate will:
(1) assist the client E-commerce department’s Senior Software Engineer in the development, testing, deployment and support of future versions of Quik-Trak and provide technical support and assistance for the current version of client website (for both Internet Booking and Content Management),
(2) work with the E-Commerce systems engineer when changes and updates are needed to the system hardware,
(3) work with Manassas Data Center to keep system in a state of good repair,(4) provide technical assitance to the requirements’ group when new functionaliy has been requested by business owners,(5) provide technical assistance to the E-commmerce development group in the integration of the application servers with the EAI (Enterprise Application Interface), a web services interface to Arrow,
(6) serve as front line support when problems are reported to the new system,(7) provide technical assitance to the development group to ensure that bug free code is produced,(8) provide backup support to the Senior Software Engineer for client website, and(9) work with the testing group when a new release of system is being prepared for deployement and,(10) deploy the new application and watch closely for any signs of trouble.
Five or more years experience with: UNIX, Software Development, Apache Web Servers, Application Servers, and Database Servers (preferably Oracle)
