Sr IT Sys Analyst
Devises and designs computing systems solutions and procedures for business problems or for segments of more complex problems. Designs appropriate application systems structures that will provide a solid foundation for well-written and reliable application programs. The Sr. Analyst uses appreciable originality on assignments and plays a major role in the development and implementation of major systems.Duties:
Essential Functions:
1. Investigates, analyzes and develops or evaluates previously refined data and selects from a range of alternatives to determine the feasibility and/or appropriate action to be taken on complex activities or problems.
2. Develops project cost and benefit estimates to establish project worth including the development of alternative considerations leading to recommendations for new systems or equipment installations or change to existing IS systems.
3. Provides advise on the implications of existing IT systems that can be applied to a problem.
4. Understands and works within the limitations of the existing software and hardware.
5. Modifies systems designs to take maximum advantage of existing equipmet resources.
6. Plans, with the supervision of the Team Lead, the full range of programming activities needed to achieve desired end-results on complex problems.
7. Writes computer programs dealing with non-routine types of operations and maintains existing system as needed.
8. Discusses or seeks approval on unique matters with Team Lead.
9. Estimate resources needs for analysts, programmers, user personnel, consultants, equipment.
10. Develops or assists in the development of project work plans consisting of, but not limited to, task sequencing, time scheduling, resource scheduling, inter-departmental coordination, testing procedures and the extent to which tasks may be performed concurrently from manual operations through computer processing.
11. Conducts on-going technological reviews to determine applicability to enhance operations of current systems.
12. Trains affected personnel on standards, procedures and operation of systems.Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or other major related to job duties.
Experience: Six years using programming language applicable to Sector. Six years of systems design and analysis.
Skills: Effecitve interpersonal, oral and written communication. Familiarity with existing operating system. Working knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) especially Oracle or MS-SQL Server. Finance Processes: Project Cost Accounting, GL, Payables, Receivables, Fixed Assets, Purchasing, and Budgets. OR: Business knowledge of Maintenance Management, Facilities Services, Help DEs, Call Center Operations OR: Business knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems and Automated Payroll.
Ability to: Debug programming; analyze data, and systems.Applications:
Client/Server fully integrated finance applications, i.e. Oracle Financials, Peoplesoft, Lawson, JD Edwards, etc. OR: Client/Server fully integrated maintenance management applications, i.e. Datastream MP@, SPAN FM, Marcam, and JB Systems. OR: Call Center Management, i.e. Vantive, Remedy OR: Peoplesoft HRIS or ADP Hrizons.RDBMS: OracleOS: MS Win95 or MS-NT Client, MS-NT Server, HP-UX Server (Unix), CITRIX WinFrame.
