Sr. Associate, Voice Operations / job id# 7743

BASIC FUNCTIONManage all aspects required for implementation of voice platforms, system upgrades and patches. Configure and install voice networks. Resolves all client problems via 24 x 7 Operations pager support.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES1.Evaluates client requests for new or modified voice and/or data systems, software and hardware.
2.Assists client and development area management in the implementation of new or modified voice networks. Review and install Voice Engineering specifications, and technical implementation plans. Recommends alternative solutions to clients to reduce costs or improve service.
3.Interprets user requests to appropriate internal units and vendors.
4.Assist in resolution of client and vendor issues.
5.Plans and coordinates installation dates and change control process with clients, development staff, network engineering, and vendors.
6.Follows-up with clients to ensure that service level agreements have been achieved and resolves any outstanding issues.
7.Participate in required team reporting and documentation.
8.Participates in the evaluation of vendor proposals and in the development and documentation of operational procedures.
9.Performs related duties as assigned or requested.
RELATIONSHIPSReceives general supervision and is competent in most phases of telecommunications network analysis to work on own and requires only some general direction for the balance of the activities. May assist and help train lower level analysts.
REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED SKILLS:
QUALIFICATIONSBachelor degree in Computer Science or a related disciplines and at least two, typically five or more years experience in telecommunications operations and engineering or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Requires a demonstrated ability in project management, a working knowledge of telecommunication networks, platforms, and environment, excellent consultative and communication skills, analytical ability, strong judgment, and the ability to work effectively with client and BT management and vendors.DESIRED SKILLS:
