Sr. Applications Developer (Seeking Data Stage Experts!)

Primary responsibilities include:


Working with Analysts and Applications Developers to design and develop ETL software for support of new projects
Participating in the systems development lifecycle from start to finish
Performing detailed analysis of systems specifications / developing Technical Design Specifications for complex systems.[DEL: :DEL]
Based on business requirements, identifying and designing most efficient and cost effective solution through research and evaluation of alternatives
Participating in data modeling
Defining system requirements [DEL::DEL]
Creating test plans
Complying with existing development and documentation standards
Guiding, training, instructing and assisting others at lower levels on a variety of technical issues
Evaluating, redesigning and modifying existing program logic to improve overall system performance
Participating in project cost and benefit estimates, including identification and evaluation of alternative solutions and design recommendations


Job Requirements:



QUALIFICATIONS:


Solid experience with DataStage and/or Informatica
Demonstrated background with SQL
Experience developing applications in a Unix environment
MS Office proficiency
Bachelor's degree in computer science, business or other relevant degree, or 5+ years in one or more aspects of information systems development
Experience in complex, cross-departmental projects involving multiple platforms
Strong knowledge of systems development life cycle
Strong knowledge of operational maintenance environment
Able to create detailed technical design specifications
Able to lead walk through of design documents and provide technical leadership over programming team
Independent communication with business partners to resolve design issues and negotiate project related items such as priorities and completion deadlines
Specific background in healthcare industry applications development or a solid understanding of health care industry and terminology is a definite plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to plan, organize and lead technical aspects of large scale projects to successful conclusion
Experience with an enterprise scheduling system such as Autosys a definite plus
Experience with COBOL coding skills and working knowledge of IBM MVS JCL would be considered a plus
Experience with Endevor, SCLM, TSO, OPC is also desirable
