Job Description:
The Specialist Systems Analysis determines client area application system requirements and processes for new or modified application programs. This professional coordinates and defines system scope objectives through research and fact-finding for development and/or modifications to diversified information systems. This individual must be competent to work in all phases of systems analysis activities. The role requires extensive knowledge of the client area's functions and systems, and broad knowledge of the system development life cycle.Responsibilities
Consult with client management regarding the identification, specification, and impact of complex system requirements and processes.Use knowledge of data modeling and data flow diagrams to determine client area application system requirements and processes for new or modified application programs.Performs application designDevelop business case and cost benefit analyses.Develop functional specifications.Create test plans and reconciliation plans.Utilize knowledge of a variety of reporting tools.Validate business rules with client management.Ernst & Young LLP, an equal opportunity employer, values the diversity of our work force and the knowledge of our people.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: The incumbent of this position must have:Education:
a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
Experience:
approximately 8-10 years of work experience in systems analysis and/or application program development in a project management environment - -Experience with Rational Unified Process (RUP) - Solid understanding of Object-Oriented concepts - Current knowledge of web technologies - Strong knowledge and experience in system analysis and logical design (including all the deliverables listed above) and the ability to determine comprehensive and complete system requirements. - Ability to facilitate meetings to gather, analyze, and baseline requirements, - Highly-effective analytical skills - Ability to work effectively with technology development and business resources, including Product Manager, DBAs, Developers and Architects - Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills - Excellent organizational and time management skills - Creativity and self-motivation - Ability to learn new technologies and take on responsibility - Ability to work independently and in a team environment with aggressive timetables Ability to deal successfully with a varied group of business partners and software vendors
