Solomon System Administrator

Purpose: Teksystems is currently looking for a Solomon Systems Administrator to work for our client, a leader in their respective industry.

Skills Required:

Thorough working knowledge of MicroSoft Solomon Version 5.5 or 6.0

Minimum of 1 year experience with General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Inventory and Purchasing modules required

Experience with the Customization Manager and/or Project Controller and Project Work Order modules considered a plus

Ability to analyze administrative, operational and organizational problems, evaluate alternatives and reach sound conclusions.

Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

Working knowledge of MicroSoft SQL Server 2000 and MicroSoft Excel

Familiarity with Crystal Reports 10 and Visual Basic highly desirable


Responsibilities:

Working knowledge of the sequence in which transactions are processed through the various modules

Be fluent in navigating database schema and developing and executing
SQL queries to drill down to the point of origin of the anomaly
Interface with affected system users to gather historical data and characterize issue

Simple fixes may include correcting a type-o or manipulating inventory in warehouse bins to cover overdrawn transactions

Mid-range fixes may require use of Initialize mode in Solomon or updating SQL database fields using Query Analyzer


Summary of repairs attempted (both successful and unsuccessful--should be included in Notes section of Solomon process screens and on event log hardcopy stored in notebook
