Software Tester

Contract - 6 Months, Open-ended
This position involves working with developers, business units, and other test team members.
Responsible for the creation and execution of test plans for various types of projects.
Clearly communicating the status of assigned projects is required.
Responsible for assigned testing activities under the direction of the Project Lead, including participation in identifying conditions and scenarios to be included in the test execution.
Determination of expected results and script outcomes.
Use of automated testing tools.
Manual data entry of test cases.
In-depth review of output and root cause analysis for discrepancies found in test case results.
Execute test cycles and troubleshoot cycle problems.
Insures professional communication (verbal and written) at all times whether it's related to participation in project meetings, problem reporting, resolving issues with business units, developers, or effectively coordinating testing efforts with other areas.
Execute a test plan prepared by others.
Applies continuous effort to acquire knowledge of various applications to gain proficiency and the ability to quickly learn and assimilate new information.
Accountable for on spec, on-time completion of assigned tasks for system, acceptance, integration and regression testing.
Presents clear and comprehensive status reports for one or more projects according to department standards.
REQUIREMENTS
MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH CSC VANTAGE-ONE
4 year degree required or equivalent work experience accepted, 3-5 years experience within IT preferred.
Understanding and experience with automated testing tools, software development and testing methodologies.
Highly developed problem solving, communication, organizational and analytical skills.
Team oriented, able to lead in a matrix management structure under aggressive timeliness.
