Software Specialist Lead -Open Systems

Purpose:
BASIC FUNCTION:
This position is responsible for addressing software, hardware, infrastructure, configuration, and environment integration for vendor products and solutions; designing, implementing, integrating and support of mainframe, mid-frame or PC operating systems products; and extensive "hands-on" experience with specific environments and basic understanding of multiple and diverse environments.

Preferred Job Requirements:
1) Certified in Unix and/or Linux administration;

1) 3 years IT experience with a Bachelors Degree OR 4 years IT experience with a UNIX certification OR 5 years of IT work experience; 2) 3 years experience with
Installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of servers in a large complex Unix environment – Sun Solaris, Suse Linux, Redhat Linux and AIX; 3) 3 years experience working with customers to install application software following departmental guidelines; 4) 3 years experience and understanding of basic and complex administrative tasks, resource and capacity administration, product administration and support, leading medium-sized initiatives, shell scripting; 5) 3 years experience performing complex troubleshooting, configuration, and performance analysis tasks; 6) 3 years experience in responsibilities for deep technical support, asset and license management, and end-user support for specific tools and products; 7) 3 years processing service requests for standard and complex Unix services.
