Software Implementation Project Manager

Growing software company is looking for an energetic, hands-on IT professional with extensive project management experience to travel on a national level to manage large-scale software installations and train clients on our software products.

Responsibilities will include all aspects of new customer implementation; including project planning, workflow design, data mapping from legacy systems, software application training and technical support.

Must be able to effectively create project schedules and track and report on deliverables and budgets; control scope; manage expectations; and mitigate risks. Must possess strong teaming and customer relationship building skills, including strong people management skills, with experience motivating and leading a team to deliver complex projects under tight timeframes. Position ensures all project deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and with the required level of quality.

This position will involve heavy interaction with end users, including establishing and maintaining the appropriate level of communication needed for the project to succeed. Must be adept at problem solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation. Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills are essential.

At least 3-5 years previous project management experience is required, including project management process, project planning tools (proficiency with Microsoft Project is highly desirable) and experience leading and motivating a team. Candidates must possess a proven track record for successfully managing the implementation of complex, large-scale business application systems with strict deadlines and significant business impact; as well as the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.

Project management certification is highly desirable, and previous software training experience is preferred. Applicants must be willing to travel 25-50%.
