The Opportunity:

This Software Engineer position in our Engineering Department should demonstrate a commitment to producing top quality, well designed and flexible applications. Candidates can expect to work in a fast paced and dynamic team environment. We are looking for individuals who have a strong business sense and have a desire to learn and use new technologies.


Description:

Develop applications that process and normalize content for the HighBeam research engine.

Support existing applications and assist in projects to migrate legacy applications ,written in C on a Linux open source platform, to the Microsoft .NET platform

Develop new and modify existing Windows and Web-based applications using the necessary tools, such as C#, Microsoft.NET framework, Microsoft Visual Studio.NET Microsoft SQL Server to meet distinct and changing business requirements as assigned.

Develop system migration, performance measurement and validation processes as needed for each product release.

Participate in project planning, project definition, requirements definition, analysis, design, testing, system documentation and user training.

Work with Product Management to analyze, model and estimate new features and functions.

Work with QA to develop test plans, test scripts and test environments and to understand and resolve defects.

Support Technical Support and Network Operations in system debugging and problem resolution efforts as needed.

REQUIREMENTS
5+ years experience programming in one of the following: Java, C, C++, C#, or object oriented programming

Understanding of XML and XSLT

Demonstrated ability to write database-driven applications

Solid system analysis background

Very strong programming ability with great attention to detail and design

Demonstrated ability to design and assist in the timely delivery of high-quality software

Strong written, oral, and visual communication skills

Interpersonal skills to support interaction with customers, team members, and management

Internet software product development and small company experience highly desirable. Search engine experience a plus.

Action oriented, innovative, creative individual who has high integrity, values and standards.
