Software Design Engineer - SSG

Purpose:
The Expedia Supply Services (SSG) team is looking for highly-talented developers to continue building on the supply architecture. This involves both working with existing code as well as innovating with new, high-performance supply components for various lines of businesses like air, hotel, car, trains, destination services, etc. We need passionate developers who enjoy solving difficult problems and writing solid, performance-oriented code to implement those solutions.

Responsibilities:
Design and implement powerful, highly scalable, and reliable server applications.
Innovate in data structures, algorithms and their application
Translate functional specifications into high-performance, logical technical designs.
Interact with Program Managers and Test Engineers to contribute to and review functional specifications and test cases.
Resolve defects in your own and other’s code.
Contribute to advancing the team’s design methodology and quality programming practices.

Qualifications:
A minimum of two years designing and developing production quality code in a professional software engineering role.
Experience developing server side applications in C++ or Java on Windows Server platforms.
Experience designing and optimizing code for robustness, scalability and performance.
Flexibility in solving problems in areas you aren’t necessarily acquainted with.
A BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline is preferred.
