Software Configuration Analyst

We are assisting our West Des Moines, Fortune 500 client that develops and services software for insurance companies in their search for a Software Configuration Analyst.


This position will be responsible for change control and software configurations as part of the overall release management process:

Defining procedures around how software changes will be packaged, released and communicated.
Automate the release management process (writing scripts and ANT tasks)
Working closely with the Development teams, QA analysts and Client Contacts on submitted software changes for release to the appropriate quality assurance and production environments
Audit software changes for completeness and approvals
Packaging software changes and promoting them to the appropriate environments in accordance with the published release schedule
Package and deploy emergency fixes or patches as approved by the appropriate managers
Will work some weekends and late evenings
Minimum to no travel required
REQUIREMENTS
Experience
Working knowledge of software management disciplines (e.g., software development life cycles, change control, configuration management and release management).
Operating environments: Unix, WebSphere, Windows 2000, CobolResource.
CM tools, e.g., StarTeam.
Databases: Informix, MS SQL, UBD DB2, stored procedures and DDWs.
Programs languages: writing custom ANT tasks, Unix shell scripts
Knowledge of WebSphere, HTML, Java, JSP, J2EE, Cobol & Visual Basic
