We currently have opening for an Sr UNIX Technology Administrator in our Wood Dale, IL location.

The Sr. UNIX Techonology Administrator is responsible for organizing, evaluating, planning, troubleshooting, maintaining, and installing UNIX and LINUX hardware and software.

RESPONSIBILITIES


Install and maintain UNIX and LINUX servers (HP-UX, Solaris, Red Hat).
Perform day to day administration tasks on all UNIX and LINUX servers.
Monitor performance of systems.
Maintain a secure environment on all UNIX and LINUX platforms.
Write and maintain shell scripts used by Computer Operations.
Maintain UNIX DNS.
Administer HP Openview environment including HP Dataprotector(OMNIBACK).
Troubleshoot performance issues and provide diagnosis and support for all applications running in the UNIX and LINUX environment.
Maintain a schedule for UNIX and LINUX patch upgrades and apply patches.
Administer Enterprise Storage Array and regularly review disk utilization.
Administer sendmail on all UNIX servers including spam protection software.
Provide support for Computer Operations, Application Development, Network Group and Oracle DBA’s.
Keep working knowledge of state of the art hardware and software.
Other duties as assigned.Job Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


Must have B.S., B.A., or equivalent years of experience, with solid understanding of UNIX hardware and software.
Must have four years or more of experience working with HP-UX (Solaris and LINUX would be ideal as well).
Must have four years or more of experience working in UNIX environment that utilizes relational data base management (Oracle preferred).
