Senior Systems DBA

Responsibilities: Kforce has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Senior Systems DBA. The selected candidate should have Oracle and Sybase knowledge. We would like to offer a 3 month contract with a hire option. Candidates will need to utilize extensive database experience working with large scale enterprise environments and have in-depth understanding of where, when, and why to distribute a database/warehouse across multiple locations as well as the implications to common services of such a decision. The DBA will be familiar with ETL tools such as ETI, Informatica, etc. Experience in the reasons for and mechanics behind introducing an RDBMS to a mainframe database environment is necessary. This DBA will have clear insight into potential bottlenecks and the ability to manage/influence subordinate DBAs to accomplish missions. This position should be experienced in working in an environment with multiple disparate DBMS and file structures across emerging and Legacy platforms. The DBA will manage the performance monitoring and tuning of all data structures and databases and ensure the effective and efficient performance of staff with respect to database administration to include such tasks as: loading data, managing data security and user access, performance monitoring and tuning, all aspects of data integrity, back-up, recovery, user and developer support. This position will provide architectural vision for the data aspects of the organizational infrastructure and act in a consultative capacity to systems, networks, and other infrastructure architects. The DBA will manage, plan, execute, and maintain database capacity as well as back-up and recovery and disaster recovery plans.
